Job Summary:

To perform advanced cost-accounting work covering material and production costs, costs of sales, research and product development, etc. To compare actual costs to estimates and analyze variances. To develop standard cost data and accurate inventory valuations.

Job Description
Analyzes and costs manufacturing work orders following company's costing system.
Prepares the monthly cost of sales figures by analyzing material, labor, and research and development expenses.
Assists the accounting manager in preparing monthly journal entries for cost of sales and scrap.
Maintains FIFO inventory system and follows established valuation method.
Assists in the quarterly and year-end physical inventory process.
Reviews and audits the costing system including costs for purchased material inventory.
Analyzes variances from cost estimates.
Prepares report for accounting manager and recommends.

Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Age From 25 To 30 years old

Computer Skills Excellent (Previous usage of Oracle is an appreciated plus)

Experience 4+ years experience in a manufacturing industry

Volunteers needed-new project in Cairo

*Volunteers Needed *

We are a group of thinkers and activists who are willing to create a new civilization organization and planting the seeds for a new way of living in one of the poorest communities in Egypt.

The main objective is to ensure that a SUSTAINABLE PROJECT is created rather than only giving out hand-outs that have a short-term effect. In addition, another objective of the project is to ensure that rather than just feeding the people, they are involved in feeding themselves. This will instill a sense of ownership in the project and in the benefits that they receive.

*Research & segmentation committee:*
Develop research campaigns to identify key problems that Antar's community are facing according to their priorities in order to identify their needs:

- Create job opportunities for young professionals
- Teach new professions for young people who drop out of school so they don't turn into "Arzekaya" has small income and hence lead to a deterioration of their illness, and poor environmental situation.
- Assess water sources and the presence of sewage to find alternative humanitarian solutions
- Assess the diseases that afflict those families in this community to provide appropriate education for them

The research officer's job is to:
- Develop indicators and methodologies
- Create need assessments
- Design and develop research processes, frameworks, methods and tools with Antar community.
- Create database contains all the information of Antar inhabitants of (numbers/ names/age/income/jobs/level of education...etc)
- Prepare analytical reports

*The research officer needs help in the phase of processing the framework*.
We need volunteers to do need assessments in Antar community to get the above mentioned information to enable us to identify the sort of help this community needs and identify type of suitable projects that could recruit large number of SA community.

Training on how to conduct the need assessment

Participation in the foundation's activities, conferences and workshops.

Emergency Assessment Officer, Cairo

The World Food Programme is recruiting an Emergency Assessment Officer, Cairo.


EMERGENCY ASSESSMENT OFFICER (MARKETS), CAIRO
The World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nations frontline agency fighting the global
war on hunger, is seeking an Emergency Food Market Specialist to be based in its Regional
Bureau in Cairo.

Further to a major consultative process including a series of technical meetings with humanitarian stakeholders such as non governmental organizations, donors and research
institutes, WFP embarked on a comprehensive three year programme (2005-2007) for
strengthening its competencies and capacities in assessing emergency need in food security
crises.

The two main components are:
(i) emergency needs assessment methodologies and capacities; and (ii) improved crisis information in crisis prone countries.

Duties and activities
Overall functions of the specialist would include:
• Contributing to the refinement of emergency needs assessment methodologies through field testing;
• Being rapidly deployed to new emergencies in collaboration with the Emergency Response Team members;
• Assisting the regional and country offices in the academic design of in-depth
assessments;
• Serving as team leaders and representing the emergency food security sector in inter-agency assessment mission;
• Serving as emergency needs assessment trainer during ‘down-times’;
• Planning support and backstopping for assessment missions, as required;
• Participating in the consultation process of the Advisory Group (composed of external
technical advisors to the project) and reflect their inputs in the testing of the
methodologies; and
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as will be assigned to the Specialist.

Specific functions:
• Assessing levels of food insecurity in relation to market mechanisms;
• Analyzing the causes of food insecurity from both macro and micro economic
viewpoint;
• Estimating the role of markets in food security, with special attention to government
versus commercial import, domestic and international trade, formal and informal trade
(in particular, cross-boarder trade);
• Identifying possible market intervention options that support lives and livelihoods to
cope with food insecurity;
• Determining the level and duration of possible food assistance to different groups and
geographic areas;
• Identifying logistical capacity and institutional means to support appropriate intervention strategies; and
• Presenting emergency food security assessment findings to the national authorities
and the humanitarian community.

The Emergency Food Market Specialist will provide WFP staff in the Regional Bureau and
Country Offices with reliable information needed to make well informed decisions on needed
responses to national and household level food insecurity in emergency situations.

Qualifications
Education:
Advanced degree (MSc) in agricultural economics or economics, or similar relevant discipline.
PhD is desirable.
Language:
• Working knowledge (proficiency / Level C) of English;
• Intermediate knowledge (Level B) of another official UN language (preferably Arabic
or Russian).
Required experience:
At least 5 years of professional progressively responsible experience in the field of macro and
micro economics (preferably in the Middle East and/or Central Asia), food security,
vulnerability analysis, emergency needs assessment, humanitarian operations, or a closely
related area. Field experience with organizations dealing with food security and emergency
operations; and experience in management and inter-agency coordination.

Knowledge and skills:
• Excellent knowledge of and field experience related to food aid and non-food aid
interventions;
• Excellent skills in both macro and micro economic analysis of food security, as well
as experience in incorporating economic analysis in needs assessment processes;
• Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills and experience in coping with issues
in a multi-, inter- and trans-disciplinary manner;
• Experience in designing, planning and implementing emergency needs assessments;
• Experience in optimizing the utility of assessment information for advising on
programming appropriate response in crisis and post-crisis;
• Good understanding of nutrition and public health issues;
• Proven ability to select, train and supervise people of varying educational
backgrounds;
• Practical experience in programme formulation, logistics and planning of emergency
operations are an asset;
• Resourcefulness, initiative, maturity of judgment, tact and negotiating skills and the
ability to cope with situations which may threaten health or safety;
• Good presentation skills for different audiences; and writing and editing skills.

Required Skills:

- The Technical Lead has to be coming from a software development background of at least 4 years experience, and 2 years as a technical lead in medium size organization.
- The Technical Lead is preferable to be aware of Microsoft Development Technologies such as .NET Platform experience etc
- Ability to work accurately, with interruptions and to meet deadline. Ability to work in a flexible way that allows for changes in assignments and priorities depending on identified needs of the company.
- Good organizational, time management and problem solving skills and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions. Organizational skills sufficient to prioritize work and complete assignments accurately, either independently or as part of a team,
under pressure of completing deadlines, working on own initiatives and / or following direction and procedures. Ability to use analytical and decision making skills to resolve problems in a variety of contexts. This includes the ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks accurately.
- Strong Problem solving and decision making skills. Recruiting requires problem solvers that enjoy evaluating and creating alternatives with tight time constraints. It also involves working on problems that are loosely defined and incorporating hard and soft facts into decision making.
These skills come into play when developing candidate generation strategy, candidate assessments, consulting with other senior management and negotiating offers.
- Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion. Mainly in handling confidential materials and matters work effectively in changing environment and adapt to changes quickly.

I need someone to work as a Financial Analyst. The company is one of the largest companies in Egypt with annual revenues exceeding EGP5 Billion, and it is working in the telecoms industry. Unfortunately, since this is an unofficial medium I can't disclose its name, but be assured that it is a highly prestigious company that is literally known by everyone.

The Analyst will be working in the costing area. This is NOT an accounting job, it is an analyst job. Therefore do not expect to do accounting entries.

Duties include tasks such as:

1- Designing financial models
2- Developing methods and assumptions to calculate costs of various business components
3- Verifying pricing plans
4- Project evaluation and costing
5- Providing guidance to management on strategic issues

Editors wanted for an online teen magazine

Our magazine is for teens and by teens, the magazine covers a lot of categories and it will be in English in the beginning. So we want editors and reporters for certain categories, it will be voluntary work and if the magazine is successful then who knows. If you are worried that it will take time from your studies, then don't because it will be monthly because we are also college students.
 
There are basic standards for who will work in the magazine; you must be
  1. Fluent in English,
  2. Send us a paragraph for why we should choose you,
  3. What category do you want to write in?,
  4. A detailed description of yourself and contact information (email etc..),
  5. Picture of yourself.
  6. But the No.1 priority and the most important reason for choosing is COMMITMENT, after you are accepted you can't just walk away, we must first find a replacement for you.

Each editor will have his name and picture published under his field of responsibility.

Technical Writer in Cairo & Jeddah

Integrated Visions is actively seeking an experienced technical writer on a contract or possibly full time basis, to create and maintain product and solutions documentation.

Responsibilities:
To produce the conceptual and reference documentation that developers use when coding software. Develop documentation (including hardware, software, network components and data flows) for Integrated Visions software. Write conceptual overviews, procedural materials and detailed reference sections; document a suite of wireless applications; work with information gleaned from source code provided by engineers or discovered from test programs; collaborate with other departments within IV to plan and produce online and printed instructional materials; research, design, write, review and proofread online user documentation, release notes, installation guides, reference manuals and programmer guides.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Candidate must be experienced in developing user and technical documentation for software applications, must have excellent writing and communication skills, understand the concepts of web-based software, and effectively utilize technical resources. Must have analytical, planning and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills are a must.

-At least five years of experience in the computer industry writing conceptual, procedural, and reference materials for software developers and administrators.
-Wireless technology experience is a big plus.
-Experience using the suite of MS Office products including Word, Power Point and Excel as well as Adobe Acrobat.
-Strong writing skills demonstrated through writing samples.
-Excellent project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
-Experience in creating and maintaining schedules and documentation plans.

Business Development Program Officer (AMIDEAST)

The Business Development Program Officer (BDPO) supports HQ and field office business development efforts. (S)He assists in the coordination of AMIDEAST’s new business development activities with AMIDEAST’s field office directors and the directors of AMIDEAST’s functional program units, including Advising and Testing Services, Exchange Programs, English Language Training Programs, Institutional Development Projects and Programs for Americans.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review relevant RFPs released by U.S. government agencies and international donors; assess RFPs for appropriateness to AMIDEAST’s experience, expertise, and ability to win; assist in the exploration of partnership options; and assist in the preparation of RFP responses
Contribute to HQ development of concepts papers and full project proposals building on identified opportunities and donor interests.

Assist AMIDEAST’s field staff in developing proposals and budgets, and contribute to the review of field office budgets submitted to HQ for approval.
